McNelly Manor is located in Burton, Texas just off of the famous La Bahia Trail.  Situated on 10 acres with a scenic view of the rolling hillside.

"McNelly Manor is like stepping back in time!  Tall ceilings, real shiplap, fireplaces, tin accents and amazing wood floors.  The view from the front porch is spectacular, almost like a painting.  The kitchen is eclectic but efficient. Loved the wood countertops!  The bedrooms were spacious and bright with loads of character.

I couldn’t get over all the different species of birds.  Cardinals, hummingbirds, titmice, chickadees and more.  The experience staying there was unforgettable, loved every minute of it!"

The McNelly Manor experience starts during the journey there. As you leave the superficial, busy world you seem transported to another more beautiful, peaceful era in time. Stretches of wooded areas, pastures and more sparsely scattered homesteads allow the peace to settle. Turning onto the private McNelly Lane and then into the secluded driveway, time seems to stand still. The beautiful setting that is revealed set the stage for our amazing visit. The solitude and expansive view to the east from the front porch is unforgettable. Each of our days there were punctuated by starting and ending in the rocking chairs watching the birds in the yard and horses in the pasture. You'll want to include a stroll out to the tranquil pond on the south end of the property. With water like glass it provides the most beautiful reflections of the wooded areas surrounding it. The variety of wildlife that comes to drink is limitless. The house itself is an amazing combination of museum quality pieces, fireplaces, wonderfully high ceilings and weathered, wood walls that are an art form in and of themselves. Every single room in the house causes a pause to take in all the elements and attention to detail Diane has attended to. While having every modern convenience it's truly amazing how both the natural & classic architecture is woven seamlessly together. The glass, sun room on the back of the house opens to a perfectly cozy, patio area adjacent to the farm house kitchen, that couldn't be more ideal for grilling or watching the birds in the bath under the tree. We also recommend exploring her big barn with high ceilings, horse stalls, sliding cedar doors and an outdoor sitting area that is perfect for yet another comfortable view of the land and visiting with the horses. The surrounding landscape provides golden solitude. Diane is truly an artist that embodies amazing skills and talents to craft such a home, not only the home, but the entire property that provides you with every opportunity for a visit that will exceed your expectations. Country class from beginning to end.
